Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They are used to remember preferences and enable certain features.
2. Cookies and Local Storage We Use
- Essential: required for wallet connection state (via WalletConnect/RainbowKit) and to remember your cookie preference itself.
- Analytics (opt-in only): after you accept, we use PostHog to measure anonymous product usage — which pages are viewed, which buttons are clicked, and general navigation flow. PostHog stores its own cookie/localStorage identifier (a random, non-personal ID) to group your events during a session. We do not link this identifier to your wallet address, email, or any other personal information.
We may also use Vercel's own privacy-focused Web Analytics/Speed Insights for aggregate site-performance metrics (page load times, traffic volume). Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not track individual visitors.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad-tracking cookies.
3. Tag Manager and Consent Mode
MovingWallet uses Google Tag Manager (GTM) to manage the scripts described above. GTM itself does not load any measurement script until you accept — we set Google's Consent Mode v2 signal to "denied" by default and only update it to "granted" after your explicit acceptance.
4. Session Replay
On this site (movingwallet.io), if session replay is active on our analytics project, it only starts after you accept, and is configured to mask every text element and input field on the page — no page content is ever visible in a replay, only anonymized interaction shapes (clicks, scrolls, navigation). Replay does not record browser console output or network request/response contents.
On the application (app.movingwallet.io), session replay is disabled in code, unconditionally — it never records, regardless of analytics settings, because that surface displays wallet balances and portfolio values.
5. What We Never Do
- We never call PostHog's identify() or alias() — no analytics event is ever linked to a personal identity.
- We never use your wallet address as an analytics identifier.
- We never send your full or partial wallet address to our analytics provider.
6. Local Storage
Simulation results are stored in browser localStorage. This is not a cookie but is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers.
7. Managing Your Preference
You can change your cookie/analytics preference at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer, or by controlling cookies through your browser settings (disabling cookies entirely may affect wallet connection functionality).
8. Retention and Contact
Specific data retention periods for analytics events are not yet documented publicly — pending confirmation. For cookie-related questions, contact hola@movingwallet.io.
